In the heart of the majestic Rif Mountains, where villages exude the fragrance of history and authenticity, the ancient iguzenayen tribe remains committed to reviving an authentic tradition passed down from generation to generation. It is the annual « Rouzaith » tradition, held in celebration of the blessed Night of Power during the holy month of Ramadan.

This year, as it does at every gathering that brings people together, the iguzenayen association for development shares these moments rich in meaning and values with the people of the region.

Roots Deep in History

« Rouzaith » is not merely a process of dividing and distributing meat; it is a social and cultural ritual that reflects the region’s identity and its long history. Our ancestors used to slaughter livestock and divide the meat into equal portions to be distributed to every household in the village, without distinction between rich and poor. This cultural legacy serves as a strong bond connecting current generations to their roots, reminding them of the importance of preserving the authentic customs and traditions that define the iguzenayen community.

Ramadan: A Season of Solidarity and Unity

The tradition of « Rouzaith » takes on a special significance during Ramadan, as it truly embodies the values of social solidarity and human unity advocated by our noble religion. Amid the economic and social challenges we face, « Rouzaith » reaffirms that living together and sharing burdens is the way to overcome difficulties. By distributing meat to everyone, the iguzenayen community ensures that this blessed day does not pass without joy and happiness filling every home, and that everyone enjoys a hearty iftar meal.

The Role of Youth in Preserving Our Heritage

Preserving the tradition of « Rouzaith » is a collective responsibility that falls primarily on the younger generations. You, the youth of iguzenayen, are the torchbearers and guardians of this rich cultural heritage. Therefore, the iguzenayen association for development invites you to actively engage in such initiatives, understand their deeper meanings, and work to pass them on to future generations with integrity and dedication. Through you, the pulse of life in this authentic tradition continues, and the values of solidarity and mutual support remain firmly rooted in our society.

The IGUZENAYEN ASSOCIATION FOR DEVELOPMENT: A Partner in Preserving Identity

The IGUZENAYEN ASSOCIATION FOR DEVELOPMENT in « Rouzaith » embodies its unwavering commitment to preserving the region’s cultural identity and promoting sustainable social development. The Association believes that true development stems from valuing and investing in local heritage to serve the community. Through its support for such initiatives, the Association seeks to create spaces for communication and interaction among the various components of the iguzenayen community, and to foster a sense of belonging and pride in our roots.

In conclusion, The IGUZENAYEN ASSOCIATION FOR DEVELOPMENT renews its call to all people of the region, both at home and abroad, to help raise awareness of the importance of preserving the « Rouzaith » tradition. Let us make this tradition an annual occasion to renew our commitment to our authentic values and to strengthen the bonds of love and brotherhood among us. For in our unity lies our strength, and in preserving our heritage lies our continuity.
